  1. By mixing half lean-ground beef with half regular-ground beef, you can pump up the flavour without plumping up the calorie count too much.
  2. Soak your oats in 1/2 cup of beer to add more flavour to your burger.

Gourmet Juicy Beef & Salsa Burger

These burger are so flavourful you hardly need condiments. And they're so easy, they practically make themselves.

Ingredients (Serves 10)

2 lblean ground beef
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 egg
1 cup store-bought black bean and corn salsa
1/2 tsp poultry seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat barbecue to medium.
  2. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and form into 5-oz patties.
  3. Grill burgers about 8 minutes per side, or until medium-doneness is reached. Serve with side salad.

Nutritional information

Nutrients per burger (without bun): 295 calories, 20 g fat, 18 g protein, 9 g carbs, 2 g fibre.
