Steamed Jasmine Rice
Try this as part of a Quick-Prep Dinner Party
Instructions
- Place 2 ½ cups jasmine rice in a bowl and rinse with running water to remove the milkiness of the rice.
- Place rice in a pot and cover with cold water. You will need just shy of 3 cups of water. Bring to a boil uncovered then reduce heat and simmer covered until rice is cooked through, about 20 minutes.
- Remove pot from heat and leave covered until you are ready to eat. Fluff with a fork just before serving.
Nutritional information
Nutrients per serving (with 1 cup rice and ½ cup sugar snap peas): 689 calories, 30 g fat, 36 g protein, 65 g carbohydrates, 2 g fibre. Excellent source of vitamin C, folate and iron.
