Alfredo Sauce

Make pasta even better with a sauce you’ve made yourself.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1-1/2 cups 35% cream (or half and half to reduce fat content)
1/2 fresh Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan.
  2. Add 1-1/2 cups of 35% cream or half & half. Bring to a boil then reduce temperature to maintain a simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in 1/2 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
  4. Let cool slightly and then combine with your favourite pasta or added to lasagna.
