Homemade Lemonade

Quench your thirst with this classic summer sip

Ingredients

1          cup sugar
5 cups cold water
1-1/4 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5 lemons)

Instructions

  1. In a stainless-steel saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup of water.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove saucepan from heat and let sugar syrup cool completely.
  5. Stir in lemon juice and remaining 4 cups of water.
  6. Refrigerate lemonade until cold. Garnish with sprigs of mint or lemon balm.
