4. Go with a no-fuss garland.
Dress up the mantel with an extra-long evergreen garland, available at most garden shops and nurseries.
5. Hang cards on ribbons.
Attach a beautiful ribbon to the back of cards, and secure it to the mantel with a small hook or tack. Hang several in a row for dramatic impact.
6. Create a festive scent.
Add a few drops of cinnamon, eucalyptus or cedar essential oil on pine cones, pods or dried berries such as rosehip or ilex (available at flower shops) and allow the fragrance to permeate your home.
