Century Charm

Like the neighbouring church, the house was almost 100 years old, and it possessed what might charitably be called an old-fashioned interior. “It was dark and dated inside, with the most egregious wallpaper,” says Jane, quickly adding that those very drawbacks were its charm.

To bring the house to life, Jane and Bruno enlisted Connie Braemer, a Toronto designer with a modernist sensibility who had previously worked with the couple on their condo. Together, they agreed that a complete makeover was in order.
