To start, think about how your hall looks from the top of the stairs. "My front hall was dark, bland and boring, with nowhere to hang coats or sit when I put on my shoes," says Suzanne. A pretty patterned carpet and hex tiled floor are much more fun than predictable styles like sisal and dark green tumbled tile.
