I Drove a Malibu to Malibu

In a bid to make cars more accessible to the Canadian women that drive them, General Motors invited Canadian lifestyle editors and writers to Los Angeles a couple of weeks back to experience the new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu. I took the bait and soon found myself on the Pacific Coast Highway behind the wheel of a shiny blue Malibu Hybrid (complete with my own navigator person), on my way to the beach.

After a relaxing facial at a spa across the street from Cher’s house (could this plan have been more completely gay?) and a nice lunch by the seaside, our Malibu convoy raced along the twists and turns of Topanga Canyon Road, seeing first-hand how much fun this little car is for the money (it starts at less than $25,000). All in all, a really pleasant way to a. get to know the Malibu, b. see the recent forest-fire damage up close, and c. witness just how aggressive Californian drivers really are.

Cute cars aside...
