At home

  1. Over-cleansing can strip your skin of natural oils, so only use your cleanser at night and simply splash water on your face in the morning.
  2. Hot water can strip skin of moisture, so keep showers short and the water lukewarm.
  3. Exfoliating becomes extra important for removing dry skin cells in winter. This will also allow your moisturizer to better penetrate skin.
  4. Unless you have really oily skin, switch to a richer moisturizer, and apply it while skin is still damp to help seal it in.
  5. It can get a little warm inside those Uggs so take care of your tootsies with a peppermint foot cream. And a peppermint spray will cool them off after a long day. Try The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Lotion and Foot Spray, $10 each.

Has anyone found a cream that helps roseacea? I end up with red spider veins on my face every winter. Grateful for any recos..

I was diagnosed with a very mild case of roseacea and my dermatologist recommended the La Roche Posay line of cleansers. So I use the cleanser and the moisturizer.
Once a week I use Avene's gentle purifying scrub and about every three days I use Nuxe clear mask. All purchased at Shopper's Drug Mart.

When my skin gets a bit rosy from the weather, I use a prescription cream, Metrocreme to help take the redness away.
